Danziger, Yisrael


Yisrael, son of Chaya and Yehoshua Danziger, was born on July 18, 1931, in Tel Aviv, and he graduated from a public school and went to a commercial school. He was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair movement and devoted all his heart to his activities. After the outbreak of the War of Independence Yisrael underwent intensive training and served as a departmental medic. On the night of June 2-3, 1948, as part of Operation “Philistine”, his company assisted in an attack by the Givati ​​Brigade on the Egyptian formation in Ashdod. The attack was halted by heavy enemy fire and the forces were forced to retreat. On the 25th of Iyar 5708, June 3, 1948, he fell during the withdrawal from Ashdod. Yisrael was buried in Nitzanim. On the 6th of Elul 5709, August 31, 1949, he was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
