Danino, Chaim (“Haimka”)


Son of Yaakov and Phoebe. Born in the city of Mogador in Morocco, he immigrated to Israel in 1951. He earned a living as a construction engineer and was drafted into the IDF in August 1957, and during his regular service he participated in the Sinai Campaign. From then on he was called to reserve duty and even in the Six Day War called to reserve duty. On the second day of her battles, he was 26 Iyar 5727 (6.6.1967), fell in a battle that took place in Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip. He left a wife and three children. He was buried in the military emergency cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to eternal rest in the Ashdod cemetery. In “Yesodot,” the organ of the workers’ union, his memory was raised.
