Danieli, Nir


Ben Anat (Hanna) and Uri. He was born on April 3, 1978, in Kiryat Ata. Brother to Tomer, Ariel and Oded. Nir began his studies in a secular school where his mother teaches, but at the end of first grade he decided to move to the Yavneh religious elementary school, where he won second place in the local Bible quiz. After graduating from high school, he studied at the hesder yeshiva of Rabbi Tzfania Drori in Kiryat Shmona in June 1997. In June 1997, Nir enlisted in the IDF to serve in the Golani Brigade, where he served in Lebanon, killing three of his colleagues: Nahum, Yossi Veraz (Nir) At the end of his military service he was accepted to electrical engineering studies at the Technion in Haifa with a score of 712 in the psychometric exam, and became one of the outstanding students During his second year of studies, Nir was called up for reserve duty during Operation Defensive Shield and fought with his unit in Bethlehem as a company commander. At the end of ten days of fighting, he received a 48-hour leave. On April 10, 2002, at the end of his vacation, while he was on his way to Jerusalem, Nir was killed in a terrorist attack on a bus near the Yagur junction. He was twenty-four when he died. He was buried in the military section of the Kiryat Ata cemetery. Survived by his parents and three brothers. Nir was a noble soul, always helped friends, always behaved politely. His outstanding feature was the love of the Land of Israel and the Jewish people, and for that he gave his life.
