Daniel, Nissim
Son of Hanna and Yitzhak, was born on 30.4.1937 in Bombay, India. Nissim studied in his hometown in elementary school and finished nine years of study. He then went to work as a driver. In 1965 Nissim immigrated to Israel and settled in Dimona. In July 1967, he joined the IDF, underwent general training and was assigned to serve as a driver in the supply force, and served as a reserve driver until 1973. Until 1973 he served in a transport base, To. He completed a professional course and served as its coordinator, and in that capacity even fought in the Yom Kippur War. After completing several courses, Nissim was promoted to corporal in January 1977. He earned his living in civilian life as a laborer in the Jewish National Fund. Nissim participated with his unit in the Peace for Galilee War. In June 1984, he was called up for reserve duty. On 15 June 1984 Nissim traveled in a civilian car on the Dimona-Be’er Sheva road. On the way he bumped into the car in front of him. He was killed in an accident. He was 47 years old when he died. Nissim was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Dimona. He left behind a wife, five sons, a daughter and a mother. The commander of his unit wrote about him in a letter of condolence to his family: “Nissim served for nine years in the same unit as a coordinator, and was very fond of all the soldiers in the battalion,
