Dahan, Nadav
Son of Esther and Shmuel. He was born on May 30, 1966, in Beit Shean. Nadav began his studies at Meir Elementary School and continued in the Kadoorie junior high school and graduated from the Ort Comprehensive High School in Beit She’an, in the electricity track. At the beginning of May 1984, Nadav was drafted into a compulsory army service, where he completed basic training and was assigned to the Signal Corps. According to his commander, “Nadav was a responsible and professional soldier and his work was flawless.” On Independence Day, Nadav was awarded an outstanding soldier’s certificate. Prior to his release Nadav received a special permit to go to a lifeguard course. He continued to fulfill his role in the unit devotedly and in his free time practiced to succeed in the course. Nadav was an outstanding athlete, and in every spare moment he practiced swimming, running and lifting weights. He was interested and followed international actors through television and the press. He had a rare kindness and would help anyone who needed help, and especially helped his brother in their work. All this was always done without consideration, and for him it was a condition. Nadav’s dream was to go to the North Sea and engage in fishing there, to return to Israel, to enlist in the police force and to engage in detective activities. Nadav died on April 14, 1987. Nadav died of a rare type of meningitis at Haemek Hospital in Afula and was brought to rest in the military section of Beit Shean cemetery, leaving behind his parents, three sisters Miriam, Edna and Maya and four brothers – Nissim, Raphael, Ofer and Osher – wrote a letter of condolence to the bereaved family: “Nadav was a friend and a friend of the soldiers in his unit, Always”.
