Dahan, Meir
Son of Solange and Eliahu, was born on 5.3.1966 in Or Akiva where he grew up and was educated. Meir attended the “Rabbi Akiva” and “Tachkemoni” schools in his hometown, but did not complete his studies. He had to help his parents, especially his mother, who was a kidney patient and needed dialysis treatment three times a week. Meir grew older. Gradually he became an introverted and quiet child to a lovable boy who loved all those around him, a handsome boy who could be expected to be great. His teacher at the “Rabbi Akiva” school was deeply impressed by his attitude toward teachers and friends and the environment in which he lived and grew up. Meir spent one year in England, worked as a waiter and paid his parents. As soon as he was drafted, he returned to Israel to fulfill his duty. Meir was drafted into the IDF at the end of December 1983. After completing basic training he successfully completed a driving course and began his service as a driver in the IDF. On September 26, 1984, Meir fell during his service and was buried in the military section of the cemetery in Or Akiva. He left behind his parents, two sisters and a brother
