Dimitri (Dima) grew up in the city of Tashkent, where he attended elementary school, and when his father died eleven years later, he immigrated to Israel with his mother a year later And his sister settled in Carmiel, and Dima began to study at the Ort Carmim High School, and after a year went to study at the Amal school in Safed. After completing his high school studies, Dima went to study in the center of the country for a year, in the framework of the 13th grade, in order to become a qualified electrician.In the middle of the year his longing for the home grew stronger and he left school to return home and join the army.In February 2000, And began serving as an electrician in a car workshop in Kiryat Shmona. He soon became prominent as a devoted and professional soldier. He performed all his duties well and was very dominant in the unit, and in fact took a major part in managing the workshop. During his service he was promoted to sergeant. When he was sixteen, Dima knew Ella, who soon became the love of his life. “We went out together for almost five years and in those years I knew him more and more,” Ella said. “From time to time we quarreled, but we were always together again, because we simply could not be apart for more than two or three days.” The couple planned to marry after their military service. On August 24, 2002, Dima was killed in a traffic accident at the entrance to Carmiel. He was twenty-one years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Karmiel cemetery. Survived by his mother, sister and girlfriend.
