Coten, Y.


During the Second World War he lived in Alexandria, Egypt, and joined the Jewish Legion – the 38th Regiment of the King’s Rifles in the framework of the British Army. Together with the battalion he arrived in Palestine to participate in the conquest of the Turks. He participated in battles on the way to Nablus and in the battle over the Jordan crossings. On 20 Elul, August 28, 1918. he died in the course of his duties, and his name was commemorated in the “Soldiers’ House” in Avihayil and in the “Book of Recognition for British Jewry.” He is buried in Cairo, Egypt.
