Cooley, Yehoshua-Aroch


Son of Simcha and Meir. Was born in 1924 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and immigrated to Israel with his mother and four brothers in 1935. When they arrived they joined the father of the family who immigrated to Israel with their eldest son two years earlier. Yehoshua began studying at the Talmud Torah and Netzach Israel schools, but due to difficulties in earning a living, he was forced to stop studying and go to work. In 1942, Yehoshua accepted the call of the national institutions and enlisted with several members of the Guardians. In January 1944, Yehoshua was hospitalized with an intestinal catheter and was operated on, after which he died, and Yehoshua was brought to eternal rest in the Haifa cemetery. Left parents and three brothers.
