Son of Hentsha and Zvi-Dov, was born in 1926 in Fiume, Italy, and grew up in Florence. He graduated from a trade school and worked as a clerk. During World War II he managed to evade the fascists and Nazis, and in 1945 he immigrated to Israel under a false name.
