Cohen, Yankele

Son of Massouda and Chaim. Born on the 24th of Tevet, January 25, 1968 in Be’er Sheva. On August 12,1986, he enlisted in the IDF, serving in the Combat Engineering Corps in Tze’elim. As part of his job, Yankele was in charge of the entire field of defense, including training, equipping, means, etc. In the last two years of his life, his health began to deteriorate due to complications of diabetes, which broke out during his military service. Senior sergeant Yankele Cohen died of his illness on the 13th of Teves, December 30, 2009. He was forty one years old. He was buried in the military cemetery in Ofakim. He left behind two children and three sisters.
