Cohen, Yaakov
He was born in 1907 in Asszylog, Volhynia, Russia. In his youth he studied in a yeshiva and in 1933 went on a pioneering training program in the city of Vongrov, Poland. In March 1938 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and was accepted to Kibbutz Ramat Hakovesh. He fulfilled his duties faithfully and was loved by his friends. On 7 Av, August 4, 1938, only five months after immigrating to Israel, on his way from work to the kibbutz, the vehicle he was traveling in went over a mine, and eight of the members of the kibbutz were killed, including Yaakov. He was brought to rest in Ramat Hakovesh.
