Cohen, Tzion


Tzion, son of Margalit and Shaul Cohen, was born in Moshav Eitan, in 1969. On February 25, 1988 he joined the IDF. After completing compulsory military service, most of which he did in the Gaza Strip, he decided to continue his military career, passed a disciplinary course and continued on to the career army. In the next five years, he served as a disciplinary sergeant at the Artillery School in Shivta, then served for eleven years in the Moran unit of the Artillery Corps, where he continued to serve as the commander of a Kela David camp at the Ground Forces Headquarters. In 1996, Tzion married Regina-Genia (Gal), whom he met in the army, and they had three children. The family lived for several years in Mitzpeh Ramon and in 2012 they moved to Kfar Saba. Tzion was a devoted and loving husband and father who spent a lot of time with his family. Tzion fell in the course of his duty on the 19th of Adar 5763 (February 28, 2013), after an illness, at the age of forty-three. He was buried in the cemetery in Moshav Talmim and left his wife, two daughters and a son, a mother, five sisters and a brother.
