Cohen, Shlomo


Son of Astria and Moshe. Born on August 22, 1951 in Jerusalem, he studied at the Remez elementary school in the Musrara neighborhood and continued to study at the Ort vocational school in the printing sector, where he excelled in his studies and was considered an excellent professional in the printing industry. Shlomo was active in sports activities and was accepted by his friends in his neighborhood and abroad, and in November 1969 he joined the IDF and served in the Golani Brigade. He took a squad commander course and was promoted to Corporal. In 1972 he was discharged from the regular army and continued to fulfill his obligation to the IDF in reserve duty. During his career in the reserves he continued to advance, and in 1983 he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and when he completed his regular service, he returned to Jerusalem and began working as a printing press, and in 1974 he married, established a home and had two daughters. He continued to work in print in Tel Aviv and continued to work in print in Tel Aviv, and in 1981 he realized his dream, returned to Jerusalem and became a partner in a successful printing press. (August 5, 1983) Shlomo was killed in the sector in Hamdun, Lebanon, when he was 32 years old when he was killed and Shlomo was laid to rest on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Daughters, parents, two brothers and a sister. The commander of his unit wrote to his family: “For 11 years Shlomo served in the battalion as a noncom, and in recent years served as a sergeant. He was a popular commander of his subordinates, to whom he treated with understanding and bravery.
