Cohen, Shabtai


Son of Deborah and Avraham, was born in 1921 in Jerusalem. After graduating from elementary school Shabtai studied the framing profession and worked as a locksmith. At the beginning of the Second World War, he enlisted in the British Army and participated in various battles in Europe. After the war he was released and returned to Israel. On the 6th of Iyar, May 15, 1947, Shabtai was hit by a bullet on the Tel Aviv-Jaffa border. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak. On the 25rd of Elul 5714 (23.9.1954) he was laid to rest in the military cemetery on the site.
