Cohen (Salameh), David
Son of Esther and Abraham Hacohen, was born on April 17, 1962 in Haifa. David began studying at the “Dror” elementary school and studied for three years in the junior high school of Municipal High School A – both in Haifa. Prior to his enlistment, he worked for a time as an assistant to the jeweler, and for three years as an offset printer at Tavor Electronics. On behalf of the army David passed a driving course, even before he was drafted. David was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of August 1980, and after basic training he was appointed as a driver at the Artillery Corps Training Base, and David was a disciplined soldier, fulfilling all the orders of his commanders to their satisfaction. He had the rank of corporal. On February 1, 1982, Corporal David fell in the military cemetery in Haifa and was raised to the rank of sergeant, leaving behind his parents, two sisters and a brother. “His sergeant wrote:” The sergeant of David was an example of a very good soldier, quiet, serious, and a great professional. His readiness to carry out each task was a very positive personal example to his friends. He was very fond of his friends and commanders, who appreciated his work. “Two plaques, including memorial candles, were placed in his memory by his parents at the Ateret Dov synagogue and in the synagogue for Syrian immigrants in Haifa.
