Cohen, Ofra (Ofra)


Daughter of Shlomo (HaKohen) and Shoshana. She was born on the 18th of Tevet 5716 (January 2, 1956) in Netanya. She studied at the Be’eri elementary school and continued her studies at the M. Sharett High School in Netanya, where she worked as a craftsman and managed to design suitable works: lampshades, carpets, etc. She was friendly since childhood, attracted attention Ofra was a loyal and devoted daughter to her parents, who showed great interest in the history of the family and collected material about the parents of her father and mother and prepared a kind of family album that was used Ofra served as a tour guide at the Egged summer camp and was very successful in her job. Ofra was recruited to the Israel Defense Forces in September 1974. After basic training, she completed a course in Arabic and was sent to a base in Sinai, where she served for sixteen months. She did her work with dedication and responsibility, personal charm and good spirit. Ofra was blessed with a manly nature and was well connected with her social environment. Her willingness to help others and to take into account everyone was a great thing among her fellow members. “On February 22, 1975, Ofra fell in her role in Sinai and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. She published a book in her memory.
