Cohen, Mordechai (Moti)


Son of-Ora and Meir was born in Petah Tikva on November 30, 1962. Moti began his studies at the Rene Kasan Elementary School in Jerusalem, continued at the Karol Elementary School in Petah Tikva and completed his regular studies He was a member of the “Moshe” sports association in Petach Tikvah, and ran a great deal of practice He wanted to represent Israel in a marathon race in an international competition, and Moti loved music, and often visited with his friends in theater and film performances. Because he was honest, responsible, and generous, and Mordechai was drafted into the IDF in early March 1981, and because of his technical skills he was placed in the Ordnance Corps. He served in various units, such as combat engineering and armor, and despite his limited physical fitness he even served for a time in Lebanon. On the 8 th of Elul 5743 (August 16, 1983), Corporal Mordechai was killed while fulfilling his duties and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind his parents, two sisters and a brother.
