Cohen, Mordechai (Moti)


Mordechai, son of Nissim and Rachel Cohen, was born on April 25, 1945 in Tel Aviv. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1963, and after completing basic training, he was offered by his commanders to undergo an officers’ course, but he refused. When the Six-Day War broke out, Mordechai was called up for reserve duty. On the first day of her battles, on 26 Iyar 5727 (June 5, 1967), he fell in the Sheikh Muhammad neighborhood. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
