Batina was born on December 12, 1961, in Lima, the capital of Peru, and when she was two years old, her family immigrated to Israel and settled in Haifa, where she studied law at the David Yellin Elementary School, In the elementary school, Mina participated in the ballet department and was awarded a certificate of excellence for her participation, and even participated in a dance company and was involved in sports, especially swimming, while she was a member of the Scouts movement at the time of the high school. As a mentor and later as a counselor, a battalion leader and later a coordinator of the Galim Scouts, Mina spent most of her time helping others, They were always new, at a summer ulpan held at the “Ehud” school and with active participation in the activities of the civil guard in their neighborhood. At the end of February 1980 she completed her basic training course, graduated with a cum laude course, and in the same way she took the officer’s course, and Mina was transferred to serve as an instructor in the artillery school. She was cheerful, smiling and grateful to all her acquaintances. On November 14, 1981, Deputy Mina fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. After falling, she was promoted to lieutenant. She left behind her parents and a brother. In her letter of condolences to the family, her commanding officer spoke of her qualities, saying that “Minni was a model instructor and as a police officer she always aspired to do the unacceptable, the new, the special … There was no challenge she could not have done. Was its contribution to the development of a new generation of well-trained and ready-made artillery. ” An article in her memory, which sheds light on the “Scouts” movement, was published in the journal “The Hebrew Scouts Organization in Israel”.
