Cohen, Matan Nissim

Matan Nissim, son of Shoshana and Moshe Cohen, was born on May 19, 1993 in Beit El. Matan decided to enlist in a combat unit, and on July 23, 2012 Matan joined the Givati ​​Brigade. On June 29, 2014, Israel waited in anticipation of the results of the search for the three kidnapped youths from Gush Etzion. In the Kissufim area on the Gaza border, Matan found himself in deep mental distress, the perfection he demanded of himself overwhelmed him, and when he felt that he had disappointed everyone, he ended his life. Staff Sergeant Matan Cohen fell during his service on 3 Tishrei, September 27, 2014. He was buried at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem.
