Cohen, Leon

Son of Simon HaKohen and Rebecca. He was born in Bucharest, Romania on February 26, 1933. He completed elementary and high school studies in his hometown and continued to study mechanical mechanics in order to acquire a useful profession. He was fond of the country and the Israeli youth, and was always willing to help his friends, and was drafted into the IDF in early January 1969 and assigned to the Ordnance Corps. According to his commanding officer, he was a disciplined soldier and did everything he had to do to the satisfaction of all his commanders. At the beginning of January 1972, he was called to active reserve duty and on the 10th of Tevet 5732 (10.1.1972) died during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
