Cohen, Ilan
Ben Dina and Jacob. He was born on the 16th of Tamuz 5761 (16.7.1971) in Pardes Hannah. Here he attended the Merhavim elementary school and the junior high school of the agricultural school. After completing his studies at the Ort Binyamina High School, he studied electronics and computers. “Ilan was a charming young man, a good student who was interested in the humanities field and loved literature and poetry,” says his teacher, Rachel Postovsky, “and he was a responsible guy, loved and accepted by his friends.” At the beginning of November 1989, Ilan was drafted into the IDF, and was assigned to the Israel Air Force after being trained in basic training, “A soldier with a great deal of knowledge is doing his job to the satisfaction of his commanders.” “A thorough and highly motivated soldier who carries out his work thoroughly and with dedication, and even sends his hand in repairs beyond his motel.” Ilan sought to advance and succeed and was recommended to the officer. (13.1.1992) Ilan fell during his service and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Pardes Hannah. He left behind his parents, a sister – Yardena, and three brothers – Moshe, Baruch and Chaim. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “From the beginning of his career, he aspired to be one of the best in the group.” Ilan, a talented soldier and among the best of us, wanted and insisted in his own way to correct all the faults.
