Cohen, Ido Meir

Son of Marion and Stephan. Ido Meir was born in Haifa on the 13th of Tishrei, October 17, 1967. Ido enlisted in the IDF in 1986. He aspired to contribute to the state as much as he could, gave great importance to military service in an elite combat unit, and as a continuation of his love of the sea, he arrived at Naval Commando 13. Ido completed his commando training course and advanced to sergeant rank. In 2007, there was a worsening of Ido’s illness that began during the army, and in the years that followed he conducted a heroic struggle for life. Ido died on the 15th of Tevet (22.12.2010). He was forty three years old. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Kibbutz Ein Carmel. Survived by a wife and three daughters, parents and two sisters.
