Cohen-Hinski, Eliyahu

Son of Esther and Aryeh. He was born on June 5, 1925 in Petach Tikva, the fourth generation in Israel. His great-grandfather immigrated to Israel in the 19th century, and his grandfather accompanied the Biluim in Gedera, Rishon LeZion and Mikvah Israel, and from his grandmother, who joined the first builders of Neve Tzedek in Jaffa, he received the enthusiasm that never stopped his love of the field and the village. After his graduation from the Ahad Ha’am Gymnasium in Tel Aviv, he enlisted in the Guard Corps, a young man with a lively heart. With his courage and sincerity he acquired the heart of his friends and pupils. At a young age, he was sent to a commanding course that took place in Tel Mond and completed successfully. Afterwards, he did guidance and guard duty, but he took a deep breath for the day when he would be allowed to take root in agricultural life. He later became a member of the “Young Maccabee” orchestra and participated in the “Young Maccabee” orchestra, and continued to carry out security duties as much as was imposed on him. On 21 Kislev, November 26, 1945, he was a member of the Haganah who went out to demonstrate solidarity with the Shefayim group besieged by the British security forces because of the hiding of illegal immigrants in the group, and Eliyahu was shot and killed. He was buried in Petach Tikva. He was survived by a brother. His memory was commemorated in a special booklet published by the Young Maccabee and in books: members of the Haganah organization from Petah Tikva and the surrounding area; “The History of the Haganah” and “Lash and Magen”; The newspaper Davar published a list in his memory.
