Cohen, Eliyahu

He was born in 1921 and was a resident of Jerusalem and was a member of Hanoar Haoved in the city and later joined the Habarut HaAvistit Ha’Ivrit (Hebrew Socialist Youth) movement, which had a deep socialist-Zionist consciousness. He participated in workers’ meetings and discussed current affairs and public problems. 1940, he enlisted in the Jewish Settlements Police and continued to serve in spite of the burden of concern for his large family. He died of an illness in Hadassah Hospital on 26 Tamuz, July 7, 1945, and was brought to eternal rest in the Mount of Olives cemetery.
