In February 1997, Danny enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, and after serving as a security guard in one of the IAF’s facilities in the heart of the Nature Reserve on Mount Meron, he was fascinated by his stay in the country. And his ability to live in harmony with a variety of people on different levels and interests of his own, all of which upset him and made him happy, and gave him time to read, write, play, sing and learn. To leave the unit and move to another unit of his choice, Danny refused, and his friends and commanders loved him In December 1998, Danny was promoted to the rank of sergeant: “Danny was a devoted and pleasant soldier, with a sense of humor and an artistic soul, who served in a unit located in the nature reserve on Mount Meron … Danny contributed a great deal to the unit as a keyboard player and wind instrument in the many evenings of the unit, and took an active part in the event marking the 30th anniversary of the unit’s establishment. On November 2, 1999, part of the radio program of the broadcaster Hayuta Dvir in “The Voice of Music” was devoted to Danny’s story. He felt his footsteps and footsteps walking around him, deafening his ears and hearing the rustle of falling leaves, opened his eyes and saw as if he were looking from the side, but mixed with all his soul, with rare tenderness and understanding Sharp and deep, and he expressed his feelings with great wealth, power and precision in many areas, the sound of his clarinet playing was charged with energies that flowed in all directions, compositions and improvisations, and contact with all his partnersNa and the listeners. They were just one of the channels through which his storms broke out. Danny took nothing for granted and always kept his uniqueness as an honest and honest exception. At the request of the editors of the radio program, composer Moshe Rasiuk composed Danny’s poem “The Painter on the Moon,” which was premiered in this program by the Ankor Choir: “On the Moon sits a painter / He paints the sun and the blue sky, then he draws the clouds, he pencils the distant birds, and adds the trees and the flowers, the fields, the mountains, and the buildings. The moon is children with balloons / and people in cars / and the sea that rises and falls in tides and / and the fish / and lots of mysterious things / in lots of colors. / All day long The sea mixes with the sun / the sun mixes with the birds / birds with the balloons / balloons with the children / and the children with the people / and the cars and the houses and the mountains / and the fields. And the roads and the flowers … / from so many colors / from many shades / everything gets darker / darker / and becomes black at night / and the painter is sad / and the next day he will try again. “Nechama, Danny’s neighbor and teacher at elementary school, eulogized him: About Danny in the past tense. As thin as he was in his body, he was a giant in spirit. Danny wanted to know everything, to touch everything … as if he had come into the world as an observer, to see, to judge and to change. To make the world a more just, more humane, more loving place … In such a short life he wrote, composed, played, studied, researched, what did not he do? “In 2000, a fund was established in the name of Danny at the Jezreel Valley Arts Center, and grants scholarships to outstanding students of music. , On the 11th of February 2002, a concert and a meeting of the first students were held, and a CD was released, including the new compositions that were invited to the event, including a song cycle for words written by Danny. , Peter, wrote about Danny and his poetry article published in a literary journal Peter even edited his poems q Danny, who would be published book of poems.
