Cohen, Benjamin


Son of Penny and Joseph. Benyamin was born in Jerusalem on the 5th of Sivan 5705 (19 May 1950.) In Jerusalem, Benny volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade and served in the 890 Battalion, and fought in the War of Attrition on the Suez Canal. He served in a variety of positions, with complete recognition and identification with the system, and in his last position served as assistant to a Southern District liaison officer, who married Yonit, a Border Policeman. They lived in Ma’aleh Adumim and had three daughters: Shani, Gal and Tal. On the fifteenth of Iyar 5747 (14.5.1987), my son fell in service. Thirty-seven years old. He was buried in the police section of the cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. Survived by a wife and three daughters. On the hillside in the Jerusalem Forest, his family and friends from the Margoa corner established his memory.
