Cohen, Avner

Son of Zion (Cohen) and Hannah; Grandson of one of the first farmers of Metula. He was born on September 16, 1935 in Metula. He attended elementary school in the village and later studied at the Mikveh Israel agricultural school and the Kfar Giladi high school. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement and was a counselor in the Gadna, and when he completed his studies there he wanted to continue his studies, but from his duty to the homeland he enlisted with the consent of his parents to serve in the IDF (April 1953) On May 7, 1953, he fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Metula.
