Cohen, Alfred

Son of Eliyahu and Fortuna. Born in Tunis, Tunisia on August 21, 1950. His family immigrated to Israel in 1951. He studied at Netaim Elementary School in Be’er Sheva, but only arrived there until grade 8. He liked painting and during his spare time painted for his pleasure He did not dream about the future of an artist-painter, but spent his spare time painting, and was a lover of music and sports, his parents needed support for their livelihood and he went to work willingly to ease them. He was drafted into the IDF in early May 1969. Throughout his service he was worried about his parents and when he came for vacation he did not want to upset them or tell them where he was and What does he do? On the 26th of Iyar 5706 (June 1, 1970), he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva.
