Cohen, Alexander (“Sasha”, “Alex”)
Son of Yaakov-Uri and Yehudit. He was born on the 5th of Iyar 5747 (28.4.1947) in Stryvy, Yugoslavia, and immigrated to Israel at the end of 1948. The family settled in Moshav Kidron, where he spent his first years in the moshav elementary school. Where he played for his favorite sport, and after completing his studies there he fulfilled his ambition and moved to the naval officers’ academy in Acre and completed his four years of study there. And then passed an officers’ course. He served in the Navy in the “Eilat” destroyer, which was drowned by Egyptian missiles in front of the Romanian coast in northern Sinai on the 18th of Tishrei, 5721 (October 21, 1967); It was two weeks before his service was over. He was brought to rest in Moshav Kidron. His memoirs were published in Beit Or, a pamphlet published by the Beit Or school in the moshav, and a booklet in his memory entitled “Lasha” was published by the Beit Or school.
