Cohen, Aharon
Son of Batya and Yosef, was born on July 13, 1930 in Bukhara. In 1934 he arrived in Israel with his parents, who settled in the Shapira neighborhood of Tel Aviv. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, Aharon volunteered for the Haganah and was attached to one of the Givati Brigade battalions, which fought in the south. He participated in all the battles. On April 20, 1948, the Arabs concentrated considerable force and attacked Nitzanim. . As the force regrouped, Arab reinforcements arrived, as well as armored vehicles of the British police. The force retreated under heavy fire, and in this battle he fell on the 12th of Nissan 5708 (April 21, 1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Beer Tuvia.
