Avraham, son of Yaffa and Mordechai, was born in 1935 in Cairo, Egypt, where he studied at the Godola Elementary School in Cairo and later graduated from high school. “His family joined him in 1955. In 1956, he left the kibbutz where he was educated and went to Kiryat Shmona to help his sister, whose husband was ill and unable to work, and worked in the city, which was then in its early stages of development. At the end of April 1956 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. He was trained as a mortar crew member and sent to serve in a heavy mortar battalion. In his unit they admired him as an excellent professional and a dedicated and disciplined soldier. He participated in the Sinai War with his unit, which took part in the battle of Abu-Agila. At the end of October 1958, Avraham was released from regular service and assigned to a reserve unit of the Artillery Corps. In this unit he was called for periods of reserve service, during which he fought in the battles of the Six-Day War and the War of Attrition. He was awarded the “Six Day War” and “Operation Service Mark”. In January 1973 his profession was changed and he was transferred to a infantry unit as a rifleman. This unit is also called for periods of reserve service. Avraham married Lilly and together with him established his home in the Pardes Katz neighborhood near Bnei Brak. In their warm and pleasant home they raised the three daughters and the son they were born with. He was devoted to his family and devoted all his energies and energy to supporting them with happiness, honor, and joy. In the little time he had left a lot to read books and enriched his knowledge. Avraham took care of his family and when they encountered difficulties, he abandoned his activities and devoted his time to helping them. He could not rest until he removed any obstacle that disturbed his family. During the Yom Kippur War, his unit engaged in security and guarding operations in the Ofira area (Sharm el-Sheikh). In mid-December 1973, Avraham was called up for reserve duty and joined his unit, which dealt with operational activity in the Ofira region. On the 18th of Tevet 5737 (12.1.1974), he died during his service. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife, three daughters and a son, two brothers and two sisters.
