Cnaani, Mordechai (Motale)
Son of Menachem and Devorah. He was born on September 30, 1924, in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, where he received a Torah education in his parents’ home, and in 1934 immigrated with his parents to Eretz Israel, where they found their sons who had preceded them when they arrived. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement, and when he grew up, he began to work in various places of work, and during this period of wandering he became increasingly attracted to agricultural work, and served in the British army before the War of Independence But when the Israel War broke out, he joined the ranks of the IDF and took part in several battles in which he displayed courage and perseverance. He was especially successful in the battles of Latrun and Kakun. After the war he returned to civilian life and moved to the Negev. He went on to the Mekorot Water Works, completed his tractor work and soon became a professional in his profession (digging ditches, leaving pipes, digging dams, etc.). During this period he did not abandon his studies and enrolled in a written training institute. Loyal, honest and independent in his ways of life and devoted to his family. On the 16th of Mershvan, 5710 (25.10.1953), he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Gvat.
