Rami graduated from elementary school in the Soviet Union and graduated from the Mevo’ot Yam marine school in Mikhmoret. Was a sports enthusiast, and after completing his studies and before joining the IDF, he worked on a ship for half a year. Rami was drafted into the IDF in mid-August 1979 and joined the Navy, and after basic training he was stationed at the naval base in Haifa as a pilot. During his service he took part in Operation Peace for the Galilee. When he completed his regular service, his certificate of release stated: “He has the ability to organize and manage. Rami was called for periods of reserve duty in his unit. In January 1986 he married Leah, and they built their home in Carmiel, where their two daughters, Rinat and Ortal, were born. Rami was the only child of his parents, and when his father died, he was the only support of his mother. On Friday, June 3, 1995, Rami was killed in a car accident and was brought to rest in the military section of the Carmiel cemetery, where he was survived by a wife, two daughters and a mother. “In response to his condolences to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote:” Rami was described by his commanders as a responsible and prominent professional who performed his role with great dedication and served as a personal example for those around him.
