Chisinau, Yehuda
Son of Yaffe and Aharon, was born in 1905 in a small town in Poland. At a young age, he was taken away from his parents and educated by his older brothers and sisters. For a few years he attended a Hebrew primary school and from then on the family and each of his brothers and sisters went away, studied carpentry and fought for his existence on his own. The suffering of orphanhood made its mark on him, making sure to avoid suffering from others. In 1925 he immigrated to Israel and settled in Petah Tikva. He struggled hard in the hardships of absorption in the new country and over time managed to get by in his profession and live in peace. Yehuda married and had three children. As a citizen with a national duty, he joined the ranks of the Haganah and fulfilled his duty throughout the years. During the War of Independence, he enlisted among the former. He served in the “Alexandroni” Brigade, one of the defenders of the moshavah, and on his guard duty fell on the 15th of Adar I 5708 (25.2.1948) near the Yarkon Bridge. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Petah Tikva.
