Chipser, Avri (Andre)


Avri, only son of Shmuel (Salame) and Helena (Leah) Chipser, was born on July 7, 1934 in the city of Luvice, Czechoslovakia. In 1949, he immigrated to Israel and reached Kfar Masaryk. In March 1952 he was drafted into the IDF together with his entire group, serving in a Nahal unit. In this framework, he took a sniper course and took part in a Nahal Brigade operational company in the Jerusalem area after completing his military service. From time to time he went on reserve duty and was called to serve even before the Six-Day War and served as an excellent soldier. He fought valiantly because he knew that in this war lies the existence of the people. On the fifth day of the battles, 1 Sivan, 9.6.1967, he fell on the first line of fire in the sector of Deirdre and Tel-Hal. He left a wife and two daughters. Avri was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to the cemetery in Kfar Masaryk.
