Chihanashvili, Raphael (Bokolo)


Son of Solica and Shabbat. He was born on February 6, 1966, in the Soviet Union, to a family with many children. When Rafael was six years old, the family immigrated to Israel and built their home in Tzur Shalom. Raphael studied at the Maimonides Elementary School in Tsur Shalom in Kiryat Bialik and at the ORT high school. At the beginning of 1986, Rafael married his friend Aviva, and on February 1, 1987, Raphael was killed while serving in the army. He was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery. Raya, Aviva, left her parents in the last months of her pregnancy, three brothers – Yitzhak, Avraham, and Mordechai, and four sisters – Rachel, Miriam, Leah and Esther. After his death, his son Maor was born. Nine months after Raphael’s death, his brother Avraham died.
