Chiak, Aryeh
Son of Eliyahu and Noga (Naja). He was born on the 24th of Tammuz 5763 (24.6.1953) in Tiberias. Two years earlier, his parents immigrated to Israel during the liquidation of the Babylonian exile. He began his elementary studies at the state school in Tiberias and continued in Tel Aviv, when the father found work in the lowlands and moved his family to Tel Aviv. Aryeh studied at the Brenner School and excelled in his studies. He made sure to observe the mitzva of honoring a father and mother. His character and characteristics gave him the sympathy of his classmates and neighborhood. From the age of twelve, he played soccer in the Beitar Tel Aviv association and was an enthusiastic and devoted player, helping his team to reach the championship in the league, and he went to the vocational school “Holtz” In May 1971, Aryeh joined the Israel Air Force, where he gained much of his professional skills and dedication to work and to the army, and eight months later, after completing his studies, he completed his studies as an electrician. At the end of May 1974 Aryeh began to fulfill his early commitment to serve at least one year in the permanent army. However, he did not receive this service for only a few days. On the 11th of Sivan 5735 (May 31, 1974), he devoured the thread of his life during his service. Survived by his parents, brother and four sisters. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. The parents donated a Torah scroll to commemorate his name. A soccer tournament was also held in his honor, and every year a soccer tournament for children was held, with the participation of teams from the Tel Aviv area, including Beitar Tel Aviv, the group where he began his sports career.
