Chernick, Gideon (“Gidi”)
Son of Moshe and Sarah. He was born on December 25, 1946, in Kibbutz Kedma, Netanya, and at the age of two he was transferred to the settlement in the south where he spent his first years of childhood. Was brought face to face with the life’s hardships and heavy responsibility, even though he was only a young child, and when he returned to elementary school, his family decided to move to Kibbutz Be’eri Where he successfully studied in high school and completed his studies there, belonged to Hanoar Haoved, the fact that he was not allowed to serve Infantry along with their classmates (from his youth) caused him much sorrow, but this year to recruit job done orchard and immersed himself well in school (English and math). In July 1964 he was drafted into the IDF, but on the 27th of Elul 5724 (August 27, 1964) – six weeks after his enlistment – he died. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Bari.
