Chayat, Abraham
Son of Rania and Zvi, was born in 1913 in Werkowicz, Poland. He was a member of the He – Chaluts movement from its youth and for years was a member of Kibbutz Lutsk. Avraham served in the Polish army at the time and came to Israel in an “illegal” immigration in 1937. Upon his immigration, he changed his name to a Hebrew name and was called Chayat. In 1940 he joined the British Army and served in Israel and abroad. After he was discharged for several years he was a member of Kibbutz Mishmar Hayam. He recently sat in Haifa and joined the Carmeli Brigade. Avraham fell on the 9th of Iyar 5708 (18.5.1948) near Ein Harod and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Haifa.
