Son of Lucy and Nissim, was born on April 1, 1950, in Herzliya. Yitzhak passed the elementary and secondary school curriculum. In November 1969, he enlisted in the IDF, where he underwent basic training and was assigned to serve in the Artillery Corps, where he took part in several professional courses as a gunner and in May 1971 was promoted to Corporal. From the artillery unit he was transferred to a maintenance unit. Yitzhak worked in the Department of Public Works in Tel Aviv, married and built his home in Or Yehuda, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Yom Kippur War, and Yitzhak returned to civilian life after the war , And in June 1977 he enlisted in the standing army with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Two years later, he was promoted to the rank of Major General, and in April 1978 he began to serve as the maintenance officer in the combat unit. Yitzhak was sent to the Maintenance Officers Course, completed successfully and was promoted to lieutenant. He continued to serve in the unit from which he was sent to the officers’ course, and in October 1984 he was awarded the rank of captain. On February 13, 1985, Yitzhak was in Nablus. On his way back from Nablus towards Tulkarem, the car he was driving in collided with a vehicle parked on the road. Two soldiers who were in the car were killed, including Yitzhak. He was 34 years old when he fell. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Holon. He left behind a wife, two sons, two parents, two brothers and a sister. The commander of his unit wrote about him in a letter of condolence to his family: “In his position as maintenance officer, Yitzhak made a great deal of professional and personal commitment to his unit, with dedication, diligence, responsibility and thoroughness. He managed to create a good relationship between the maintenance department and the training unit, and within the maintenance department, Captain Yitzhak was admired and accepted by his commanders and subordinates”.
