Chanukah, Moshe (Yizman)
Moshe, the only son of Chanukah and Georgia Chanukah, was born in 1948 in Arbil, Iraq. Moshe immigrated to Israel when he reached school age and began to study at the Amal vocational high school in Safed, where he graduated with honors. On the first day of the Six-Day War, 26 Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), Moshe was directly hit in the battle that took place near the groves of Kibbutz Dafna. He was rushed by helicopter to Rambam Hospital In Haifa – where he died of his wounds. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
