Chamu, Asher
Asher, son of Rachel and Isaac Chamu, was born in Dimona on the 23rd of Shevat 5736 (25.1.1976). On August 2, 1994, Asher enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces for two years and served in the Etzion military base, where he completed his military service. After completing compulsory service, Asher continued to serve as a logistics officer in the Armored Corps, and was soon appointed to serve as a counter-logistics officer at the Shizafon base in the south. In October 2013 he was diagnosed with cancer. For about three years he fought the disease, underwent surgery and many treatments but tried to continue the routine of service and family life. During the course of his duties, on September 3, 2016, Asher died. He was forty years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Binyamina. He is survived by his wife, son and three daughters, mother, sister and six brothers.
