Daughter of Avital and Michael, sister to Oren and Smadar. She was born in Herzliya on May 26, 1987. Sigal grew up in Herzliya, At the beginning of December 2005, Sigal enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces in a special course for officers in the Israel Medical Corps, which included two months of basic training at the Shivta base and a combat paramedics training course at the Training Base. During the medics course Siegel began to feel ill but tried to overcome and move on. The commander of the base said: “As a trainee in the course for paramedics in the military medical school, Siegel was at the beginning of her military career when she fell ill, despite her physical difficulties, continued her participation in the course and even finished it with a show of dedication and perseverance. , Its seriousness, its oversight and the independence it displayed in carrying out all the tasks that were imposed on it. ” Sigal continued the course for another month or so despite her illness, but her condition deteriorated from day to day and her ability to function declined from minute to minute. On 14 April 2006, she was hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer with meningitis. Despite the doctors’ efforts, her comprehensive and surgical tests did not cure her illness. Throughout the period, Siegel behaved with dignity, heroism and modesty, and kept her dignity despite her inferior physical condition that confined her to bed. Because of her pride and in order to prevent pain from her loved ones, she tried to prevent her friends from knowing about her illness and asked them not to visit her at the hospital. The only ones who stayed by her bed all the time were her immediate family, her partner Rafi and her medical corps commanders. Sigal died on the 14th of Tammuz 5766 (1)0.7.2006) and is nineteen years old. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Herzliya. She left behind her parents, brother and sister. After her fall she was promoted to corporal.s called “Sigal House”.
