Chaim, Issachar


Son of Ratzon and Feodor. He was born on April 23, 1938, in the city of Shugariya in Yemen. At an early age you received his father and mother who were murdered in Yemen and from 1946 until his arrival in Israel in 1950 he was cared for by his only relative – his uncle. He was twelve years old when he arrived in Israel with his younger brother in the camp of Ein Shemer and was taken to the “Youth Aliya” camp in Netanya, as a member of the Bnei Akiva movement. He was meticulous in his observance of the mitzvot and was diligent in studying and acquiring work habits, so he wanted to specialize in a specific agricultural sector in one of the religious farms and to devote himself to Jewish studies as a member of the “Bnei Akiva” yeshiva. The Lavi group until he entered the IDF as part of the Nahal Brigade (in the 25 th nucleus of the Bnei Akiva youth movement) and when he entered the army, opened the possibility of achieving his goals. In his spare time, he held many positions in society with great faith and energy, and his colleagues greatly admired him for his dedication. He was drafted into the IDF in March 1955, but he had a strong connection with the Lavi group, because after his compulsory service he intended to return there to live his life in the agriculture. After his enlistment, he participated in military operations in the Arava and in Husan, and fell in battle around Qalqiliya on Friday, 11 March 1956. He was brought to rest at the Lavi farm cemetery.
