Casso, Hananiah

Casso, Hananiah

Son of Masoud and Rachel. He was born in 1927 in the city of Mogador, Morocco, and after graduating from the Alliance elementary school there, Hanania was forced to stop his studies and study the literary profession that he occupied until his dying day. Hanania was a member of the Dror organization, whose emissaries visited Morocco, and Hanania left his parents, who lived in Be’er Sheva, and went to Jerusalem where he worked for two years as a barber until his father died. Hanania did not serve in the regular army due to his high age, but he did his service in the reserves out of loyalty and dedication. Was sent to France to visit his brother there and received a summons to reserve duty before his departure, but when he returned from France he quickly asked for a reserve order and received a new order on the day of Tevet 5731 (30.12.1970) . He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva
