Carrier, Shlomo
The only son of Chava and Pinchas was born on September 11, 1930 in Tel Aviv. From his childhood, he aspired to a rural life and therefore studied at the agricultural school in Mikvah Israel and was about to leave for settlement. Was very devoted to the affairs of his girlfriend and one of the fifth organizers of the renewed Mikve Israel. In the conquest of the wilderness he saw a single way for youth and in the core he found the purpose of his life and for that reason even gave up his desire to help his parents. When the War of Independence broke out he participated with the other students in defending the school and repelling the attacks from Yazur and Tel Arish. However, he demanded that his colleagues continue their studies until they were called, “because the settlement needs people with knowledge of agriculture and various professions.” Two weeks after completing his studies, he joined the Palmach and served in the Yiftach Brigade, and on Friday, May 15, 1948, Shlomo fell from a sniper when he went out to bring food to members of the outpost, who controls the road opposite Kadesh Naftali near Malkiya. Temporarily buried. After a period of time, upon the conquest of Malkia, he was laid to rest on the 16th of Cheshvan 5709 (18.11.1948) in the military cemetery in Safed.
