Carmi, Amnon
Son of Tova and Aharon. He was born on April 23, 1925 in Jerusalem. At the age of five, in 1929, his mother died and in 1938 he was also killed by his father, who was murdered by Arab workers as a work manager in the construction of the government hospital in the vicinity of Jerusalem. Amnon finished elementary school in the Borochov neighborhood and after the death of his father was educated in the son of Shemen Youth Village. He joined the “Hanoar Haoved” group and the “Alumot” group in Poriah, which later moved to Bitnaya. Even in his youth, he excelled in his spiritual integrity, which he did not know of compromises. In the fall of 1944 he enlisted in the British Army and served for a year in the Jewish Brigade and took part in her travels across Europe. In February 1948, during the War of Independence, he enlisted in the Palmach in the Harel Brigade, was among the pioneers in Jerusalem, took part in the Nachshon operation and in battles around Jerusalem, and fell on the 17th of Iyar 5708 (26.5.1948) The radar camp on the way to Jerusalem was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
