Carmel (Cliker), Shlomo

Shlomo (Abu), son of Rivka and Aharon, was born on February 5, 1945, in Ajmer, India, and immigrated to Israel in 1965. In Bombay, he attended the David Sasson Elementary School. Who immigrated to Israel, lived in Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, but the kibbutz life was difficult for him, and he moved to Dimona, where he worked for a private contractor and after completing a course in lathe, he worked at the Nuclear Research Center. He was modest and humble, loved the simplicity and was Simcha with his lot, quiet, shy and a little withdrawn, never accepting or grumbling, and accepting everything with equanimity. He was very polite, courteous, pleasant, and always willing to help others, even if it was difficult and inconvenient to do so. Shlomo was drafted into the IDF at the end of December 1967 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. He was a good soldier, responsible and dedicated to his job, and was an example to his friends in his good temper, tolerance and obedience. And a loving father, when the Yom Kippur War broke out, he was drafted and sent with his unit to the front in Sinai, where he participated in the battle against the Egyptians. Was buried in the cemetery in Dimona and left behind a wife and son, a father, two brothers and four sisters, and was promoted to the rank of corporal in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family. His commander wrote: “Shlomo was devoted to his role and filled without fear, and was admired by his friends and commanders and was loyal to his team.”
